Water scarcity short film competition launches

An international short film competition which aims to generate debate around water scarcity and mark World Water Day 2012 has launched.

As part of the ‘We Are Water’ Film Festival competition, set up by bathroom brand Roca, budding film directors can enter into three separate catergories – animation, micro-documentary and mobile – to address the theme of ‘Water and Food Safety’.

Winners will be selected by the number of ‘likes’ on Facebook and awarded with the opportunity to visit one of the We Are Foundations projects to film a documentary and take a masters in documentaries and society in the Escac School of Cinema in Spain.

The judging panel will include; film director Isobel Coixet, actress, film director and singer Maria de Medeiros, UN representative Carlos Jimenez and We Are Water Foundation director Xavier Torras.

The deadline for entries is April 30 and more information can be found here.
