Workplace water firm is carbon neutral in seven countries

The workplace drinks provider, Eden Springs, says it has achieved 100% carbon neutral certification in seven of its European markets, including the UK.

The company, which delivers 450 million litres of water to a more than half a million offices across 15 countries, recently carried out a ‘life cycle analysis’ to estimate the environmental cost of its activities and identify where carbon savings can be made. As a result, working with the Carbon Neutral Company, it already has carbon neutral status in the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands.

“Operating across mass markets means it’s vital that we maintain awareness of our true environmental impact and minimise our carbon footprint wherever possible,” said Eden Springs’ CEO, Raanan Zilberman. “This is something we incorporate in our wider business strategy.”

The company is also running a number of initiatives to target other environmental gains. These include a ‘save a cup’ campaign, to promote recycling among its office based customers; electronic billing and the development of low energy water coolers. It has also introduced ‘long life’ water cooler bottles which can be cleaned and reused up to 50 times before being recycled. This means one bottle can deliver 950 litres of water in its lifetime.
