Helistrat implement ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard into Global Data Centre Campus

The Challenge

The data centre’s campus is located in London and is one of the largest technology business within in the UK. Helistrat were tasked to identify and analyse the campus’ carbon footprint and recommend ways to reduce it.

Our Solution

Over a period of three working days, Helistrat engaged with various stakeholders to conduct a full audit of the campus. By having a certified auditor on-site, we were able to look at implementing an Environmental Management Systems (EMS) within the business and measure its conformance against international standards.

The Outcome

Following the extensive audit, new processes and initiatives have been put in place to minimise negative impact and increase the focus on environmental efficiency. The project has encouraged the campus to become more sustainable. The campus was awarded their ISO 14001 accreditation in September 2017.

About ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS). It provides a framework that an organization can follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements.
