Newly built homes too small for recycling
Newly built homes do not have enough space for recycling, according to a survey by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment.
Of those the vast majority, 72%, said they did 'not have enough space for the three small bins required to recycle properly,' according to the survey.
CABE's chief executive, Richard Simmons, blamed local authorities and developers for allowing and building homes that were too small.
He said: "We need local planning authorities to ensure much higher space standards before giving developments the go-ahead."
