Sustainability stats: The week in numbers (24/10/14)

What great data did we see in the past seven days? In the fourth edition of our popular series, edie takes a look-back at some of the fascinating figures from the worlds of energy, waste and water.

It was a week that was blown away by wind energy news. A blustery Sunday set new records for British wind-power, while the very next day a report predicted the energy source would be supplying a quarter of the world’s electricity within 16 years.

Good Money Week also took place over the past seven days, and there are some positive signs for the future of the ‘positive investment’ market. The same can be said for the UK’s plug-in car market, which reported a record-setting quarter.

Rooftop commercial solar installations featured prominently in the week’s headlines, as did the world’s major insurance companies – albeit for the wrong reason.

This image list rounds up these industry plot lines with illustrative key numbers and accompanying links for each of the big stories in case you missed them. Click the pic for the full news story.
