Sustainability stats: The week in numbers (12/12/2014)

In the latest edition of our popular series, edie takes a look-back at some of the intriguing figures from the worlds of energy, waste and water.

It was a bad week for British Gas which was fined a hefty chunk of change for failing to deliver mandatory domestic energy-efficiency upgrades by an agreed deadline.

Aside from that it was a week of positive news for sustainablity-minded companies. The AD industry saw a considerable boost to installed capacity, while Australian scientists made a special solar breakthrough. Boris also made headlines promising 2,400 hybrid buses and taxis for the nation's capital.
