The world’s largest offshore wind farm could go up off the Devon coast as the company behind the London Array wind farm launched its biggest project to date.

The £3bn Atlantic Array offshore wind farm would produce 1,500 megawatts of power – enough to power more than a million homes, covering half of the South West’s domestic energy needs.

The Atlantic Array is the brainchild of wind farm manufacturing and servicing company Farm Energy, also the originator of the 1,000 megawatt London Array wind project in the Thames Estuary – the world’s biggest to date.
