“We are delighted to announce the first wave of speakers for our new thee-day conference,” said Amanda Barnes, chief executive of Sustainability Live organiser Faversham House. “The keynote line-up will showcase thought leadership from leading UK organisations who can share their energy and sustainability success stories with their peers.

“This combination of a high-level conference and ‘how-to’ seminars makes Sustainability Live the most practical and strategic destination event for anyone with energy or sustainability-focused roles within their organisation.”

Sustainability Live Conference

‘From Risk to Resilience’ is the theme the new Sustainability Live Conference, which will bring together the business and policy leaders who are finding new ways of building resilience into organisational models, and already reaping the benefits. Incorporating an inspirational series of presentations, debates and panel discussions, the three-day, ticketed Conference is free to attend for qualifying delegates.

Confirmed speakers include sustainability experts from leading brands and institutions such as Sainsbury’s, Carlsberg, M&S, B&Q, Jaguar Land Rover and Cambridge University, with sessions chaired by the likes of forecasting and innovation expert James Woudhuysen and BBC business and economics presenter Simon Jack.

Implementation theatres

The Conference will also be supported by three additional theatres on the show floor dedicated to implementation, providing content relevant to all job functions and levels.

  • The ‘Beyond compliance – the risks and opportunities’ keynote will explore the current regulation landscape including ESOS, ISO 50001 and EU policy. The session will showcase thought leadership from speakers including Colin Hawthorne, energy manager for Jaguar Land Rover.
  • ‘Energy – the bottom line: use less, make your own, buy smarter’ will explore the three main routes to energy cost reduction: using less, on-site generation and smarter procurement strategies. Speakers include Matt Sexton, director of corporate social responsibility for B&Q; Gio Pattelero, head of energy supply and risk with M&S; and Paul Crewe, head of sustainability, energy and engineering for Sainsbury’s.
  • ‘New models: the system revolutionaries’ will examine innovative new business models embracing the transformational changed needed to create a sustainable future, from the circular economy and closed-loop processes to the sharing economy and servitisation. The session will share learnings from Charlotta Lyon, vice president of corporate affairs in Western Europe for Carlsberg Breweries.

The Environment and Energy Awards and Utility Week Live incorporating IWEX will also be co-located with Sustainability Live, offering visitors, exhibitors and sponsors with numerous business networking opportunities – all taking place in and around the NEC Birmingham from 21-23 April 2015. See you there!
