The SPARK! Net-Zero Action Workshops event is the flagship annual gathering for edie’s Net-Zero Leaders Club, which sparks new ideas and actions on the road to net-zero carbon emissions. Hosted as part of edie’s Net-Zero November campaign of content and events, this full-day event created the time and space for energy and sustainability changemakers to connect, collaborate and seize the moment of net-zero.

Throughout the day, experts representing a range of sectors took part in high-level roundtables, each covering a different element of the energy transition for businesses. The key takeaways have been summarised in a miniseries of short, free-to-download reports. The first report was published by edie last week and focuses on net-zero business strategies and innovation. This was followed by a separate report on renewables and cleantech.

The final report focuses on the everyday actions of people that underpin corporate sustainability. Whether it’s securing boardroom buy-in, rolling out behaviour change initiatives, or implementing more efficient organisational processes – your people can represent one of the most complicated challenges when it comes to decarbonising business. So, what are the biggest drivers, challenges and opportunities when it comes to accelerating the transition to net-zero emissions through people, behaviours and industry processes in 2022?

This mini-report, published in assistance with JRP Solutions looks to answer that question and also features an expert viewpoint from the company’s director George Richards.

A panel of experts in the energy transition also spoke at the SPARK! Net-Zero Action Workshops in Birmingham last November.

The panel was asked what was top of their remaining UK policy wishlist after COP26- and the flurry of Strategy publications and funding announcements that came in the weeks and months leading up to the climate summit. These included the Hydrogen StrategyHeat and Buildings Strategy and overarching Net-Zero Strategy.
