Owen Paterson set to replace Caroline Spelman as Environment Secretary

Former Northern Ireland Secretary Owen Patterson will head the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) according to a Press Association report.

Caroline Spellman will lose her position as head of Defra as part of David Cameron's first major cabinet reshuffle since he became Prime Minister.

Owen Patterson has been replaced by Theresa Villiers as Northern Ireland Secretary.
