The energy experts will spark new ideas and actions that will help organisations achieve a net-zero carbon footprint. It will seek to answer questions such as what carbon-cutting pathway is most appropriate for your business? And in the context of reaching ‘net-zero’ emissions, what does an effective energy management strategy look like?

Speaking on the webinar will be Louise Townsend from construction firm Morgan Sindall, who has halved its carbon footprint on 2010 levels. The firm has also gained approval for a science-based target, including in complex Scope 3 emissions – driving emissions across their business and the supply chain. The firm assessed the impact of scope 3 emissions across all the companies’ divisions for each of the 15 GHG categories – before putting this to the SBTi.

Also taking part in the event will be Childbase Partnership’s health, safety and environment director Mark Bird. The 43-strong nursery group has recently pledged to go net-zero by 2030 across its sites and head office. The company is working on Planet Mark’s Zeroby30 scheme, developing a 10-year strategy to create and implement a roadmap to zero-carbon solutions, with a methodology to identify the practical actions needed to hit net-zero over the next decade.

Representing sponsor Inspired Energy will be its Director: Public Service and Policy, Georgina Penfold. A well-known industry commentator, with more than a decade of experience, she has been actively involved in improvement discussions with BEIS, Ofgem and DNOs.
