Carbon Trust Certification managing director, Harry Morrison, speaking today (October 11) at the Energy Solutions Expo, says it’s ‘hard to know’ what it is a good standard for energy efficiency.
But, if business follows his recommended are six steps they will be well on the way to energy efficiency.
First, identify your baseline, what your energy uses are now.
Second, create a business growth model.
Third, work out your carbon reduction potential.
Fourth, adjust your estimates for a ‘potential’ grid mix with more renewable power.
Fifth, set clear emissions targets.
Sixth, compare your performance and targets with other comparable businesses.
