With edie readers largely working remotely, this ongoing series of video interviews keeps you connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and champion climate action from their own homes.

#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

The latest episode sees edie’s senior reporter Sarah George speaking with Green Angel Syndicate founder and chief executive Nick Lyth.

Lyth explains why he was motivated to launch the Syndicate in 2013, as “an experiment”, and how it has come to represent more than 230 members amid changing investor demands in the face of the climate crisis.

He also outlines how investors can begin to tackle the “chicken and egg” scenario of knowing which low-carbon and nature-based innovations to support – and when – and how the green investment opportunity can be better communicated in the run-up to COP26.

This latter discussion point is raised by Sarah, after a recent survey of 7,000 UK adults by the Government found that only half believe that the net-zero transition will boost the economy.

This episode of #SustyTalk follows on from a panel discussion, on the topic of green finance, featuring experts from Clim8, FIA EPTA and E3G. You can watch that episode by clicking here.
