The latest episode sees edie’s content editor Matt Mace speak to Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I's director of sustainability and external affairs Michelle Norman.
The company has pledged to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its entire multinational value chain by mid-century. During the discussion, Norman explains how the target has been welcomed across the business and why even during the midst of a pandemic, it was the right time to unveil new corporate ambitions.
In order to support this long-term ambition, the company has set interim targets to reduce Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (power-related) emissions by 25% and Scope 3 (indirect) emissions from the supply chain by 20% by 2030.
The conversation then turns to plastics and how corporates are still very much focused on improving circularity, even as health and safety and climate change rise up boardroom agendas. Norman goes on to explain the key aims of the company’s plastics strategy – which you can read more about here.
