The latest episode of the edie podcast took place during London Climate Action Week – a week of dedicated events and forums to discuss sustainability and climate change, including edie’s very own Energy and Sustainability Leaders Summer Lunch.

Following the format of the Great Green GB Week relay episode from last year, Matt, Sarah and James pass the proverbial baton that is the recorder across London to speak to some of the notable experts at events.

First up, the team speaks to Planet Smart City, the UK headquartered global leader in smart affordable housing, as to how their solution can assist with the UK’s new net-zero target.

Following that, the team speaks to Dr Rhian-Mari Thomas, the chief executive of the newly launched Green Finance Institute, to discuss the Green Finance Strategy and how it is set to make a green finance groundswell.

Then, Green Alliance’s head of politics Paul McNamee joins us on the phone to discuss the organisation’s involvement in London Climate Action Week. Another firm involved in the week, Climate KIC to speak to their chief executive Kirsten Dunlop on the need to make innovation the new normal.

Finally, the edie team grabs 10 minutes with Joan Krajewski General Manager of Safety, Compliance and Sustainability at Microsoft Corporation, who was a guest at the Leaders Lunch to talk about the transformational role of technology.
