edie launches brand new Sustainable Investment Digital Conference for September

The new two-day digital event is scheduled for 7-8 September 2020

In a bid to spur the conversation on a green recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, the Sustainable Investment Digital Conference will unite the fields of sustainability professionals, investors and the final decision-makers from organisations to outline the key barriers and opportunities to unlock the low-carbon transition.

The new two-day digital event is scheduled for 7-8 September 2020 and will feature a myriad of expert panel discussions, breakouts and deep dives into key green finance themes and opportunities to network virtually with delegates.

Speakers currently confirmed for the digital conference include Steve Waygood, Chief responsible investment officer Aviva Investors; Jessica McDougall, Vice president BlackRock Investment Stewardship; Mark Lewis Global head of sustainability research BNP Paribas Asset Management; Leonie Schreve Global head sustainable finance ING and many more.

In a post-COVID world, what will the priorities be around redesigning and redeploying finance to stimulate the economy? And how can business and political leaders combine efforts to tackle both the climate and economic challenges that lie ahead?

On a more granular level, many questions around disclosure remain. What does effective disclosure look like? What role does standardisation need to play to accelerate the integration of ESG into investment decision making? How do we resolve the discrepancies between leaders and laggards when it comes to effective disclosure? And what do various degrees of data quality and quantities mean for sustainable investment as a whole?

The Sustainable Investment Digital Conference will aim to answer all of these questions and more. It builds on the success of edie’s Sustainability Leaders Forum and will unite corporates, asset managers and asset owners among other key stakeholders, for frank and open discussion around disclosure priorities, roadblocks and innovations.

Who should attend?

The conference is a perfect opportunity for a variety of different stakeholders sitting in different professions to explore the green recovery. From asset managers and owners to the chief financial officers, chief executives and sustainability professionals at corporates, the conference will feature insight applicable for a range of job roles.

Policymakers and regulators, directors of capital markets and stock exchanges, NGOs and industry bodies and rating agencies will all find value in the conference.
