With edie readers working remotely or on furlough, this brand new series of video interviews keeps you connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and champion climate action from their own homes.

#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

With less than four months to go until COP26, edie is using this format to amplify the voices and highlight the work of climate activists, encouraging sustainability professionals to take their learnings on board.

The latest episode sees edie’s senior reporter Sarah George speaking with Maria Alejandra Escalante, climate and environmental justice lead at FRIDA, the Feminist Fund.

Before outlining how she defines climate and environmental justice, Maria looks at whether nations are doing enough to ensure that diverse groups of women have a seat at the table in the preparations for COP26. The UK COP26 unit notably put forward an all-male panel in the first instance and has added women to the team following campaigns such as She Changes Climate.

Maria and Sarah also look at how, with people increasingly recognising the links between the climate and nature crises, twin solutions can be developed and delivered equitably.
