In today’s episode…

For our second episode, Luke, Matt and Sarah board a special ‘Climate Train’ up to Glasgow, organised as part of the Rail to the COP initiative established by Youth for Sustainable Travel – the campaign group which famously sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 2019 for COP25. The organisers say the train is a much more climate-friendly way to arrive, with just one passenger’s carbon footprint from one flight between Amsterdam and the same as seven Eurostar journeys.

During the 30-minute episode, the edie trio begin at St. Pancras International train station in London for a chat with Lauren Williams, environment and sustainability lead at Eurostar – an official partner of the Rail to the COP initiative – before then setting off on the journey up to Glasgow.

On-board the train, Luke speaks with Mara de Pater, founder of Rail to the COP and chair of Youth for Sustainable Travel, before handing over to Matt who tries his hands at a climate-themed card game with a representative from The Climate Fresk – an accredited observer to the UNFCCC which is organising a host of workshops throughout COP26.
