COP26 Focus Week: edie kicks off bumper week of content and events dedicated to climate action

The week will provide edie readers with an array on insight and inspiration as we prepare for COP26 in Glasgow this November

Brought to you by the award-winning edie content team, the COP26 Focus Week (6–10 September 2021) is our themed week of editorial content and events dedicated to supporting sustainability, energy and resource efficiency professionals in seizing the opportunity of the crucial UN climate talks which are being held in Glasgow this November.

Hosted in association with our Focus Week partners Grosvenor, EY and the Woodland Trust along with our Countdown to COP26 Festival headline partner, O2, this week will see the edie team publish an array of exclusive COP26-related content and events, including:

Online event

On Thursday 9 September, edie is hosting a series of Inspiration Sessions on climate adaptation and nature-based solutions, featuring expert speakers from organisations including Unilever, FAIRR, Grosvenor and many more.

During the afternoon of live, interactive webinar presentations and discussions, we will shine a spotlight on how businesses can harness nature-based solutions while adapting to the changing climate to improve resiliency.

This premium online event effectively combines three edie webinars into a single afternoon, with each webinar session taking a particular format. The first session (45 mins) will be a Q&A-style debate; the second session (one hour) will be a series of quick-fire case studies; and the third session (45 mins) will take a ‘masterclass’ format.

Reports

During the week, edie will publish an update to its edie Explains guide on seizing the business opportunities of COP26.

Hosted in association with Inspired Energy, the guide answers common FAQs on the conference for professionals, including: What is COP26? What are the summit’s aims and desired outcomes? How does the COP process work? And what is the business opportunity before, during and after the talks?

Additionally, edie will publish the fifth and final report in its series of Primer Reports on the key themes of COP26, with this edition focusing on Adaptation and Resiliency. Featuring an exclusive foreword, the report will take a global snapshot of progress to date, highlight the urgency for further action and outline how the private and public sectors can help deliver progress.

On Friday 10 September, edie’s  Sustainable Business Covered podcast will continue with a special COP-26 themed edition. Tune in to hear exclusive interviews from the Energy and Climate Change Intelligence Unit (ECIU), Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership.
