edie’s ever-presents Matt Mace and Sarah George are joined by a ghost of Christmas past, as insight editor James Evison returns to host the 2019 Christmas special.

As well as recapping their favourite moments of the year, discussing Christmas movies and indulging in a big fat sustainability quiz of the year, the team discuss how businesses are doing things differently this Christmas.

First up, in his struggles to find suitable Christmas presents, Matt interviews Tinggly’s co-founder Alex Gibb on how the e-commerce company is offering the gifts of stories rather than stuff in a bid to promote sustainability and reduce resource consumption.

Sticking with the delivery theme, the edie team is joined by business network Team London Bridge’s chief executive Nadia Broccardo on how the group is spurring demand for clean and green transport in the capital this Christmas, including the biggest sleigh-sized cargo bike ever seen.

Following that, Sarah gets into the festive spirit by joining Neighbourly’s chief executive Steve Butterworth, to discuss the gift of giving, and how major UK retailers are clamping down on food waste by partnering with the B-Corp.

Finally, Matt speaks to UK Stakeholders for Sustainable Development (UKSSD) Network Director Emily Auckland to discuss food waste at Christmas and how the network is partnering with the likes of Nando’s and Nestle to fix a broken food system in the UK.

Following the last interview, Sarah puts on her quiz master hat to provide a little prelude of the big fat sustainability quiz of the year and see which of the edie team has been paying most attention to 2019’s biggest stories.

So grab a mulled wine (provided you’re not driving) and sit down by the fire to enjoy edie’s last podcast episode of 2019.
