With the majority of most organisations’ emissions and cost reduction opportunities sitting outside of their own operations, Scope 3 emissions represent a significant opportunity to identify emission hotspots, improve efficiencies and positively engage with employees.

But measuring, reporting and ultimately reducing these indirect emissions can be tough – it requires a clear strategy, detailed data analysis, and a wide-ranging engagement plan across supply chains and teams.

This online masterclass provides expert advice that will assist you no matter where you are on your journey, from gathering and analysing your Scope 3 data, to engaging key stakeholders and suppliers in ways which support net-zero carbon commitments.

Brought to you as part of edie’s Scope 3 emissions masters series with Carbon Intelligence, this masterclass-style webinar will equip you with the information, inspiration and innovations you need to improve Scope 3 data analysis and ultimately minimise value chain emissions.

The masterclass is split into two parts: the first part will see two industry experts deliver presentations on how to manage and reduce Scope 3 emissions; and the second part will be an open Q&A, allowing audience members to have their questions answered by the experts.

Discussion points:

  • Establishing a data hierarchy for your Scope 3 emissions
  • Articulating Scope 3 emissions plans across key stakeholders and teams
  • Tools and techniques to align Scope emissions reductions with net-zero targets

Dear Edie, I love you to bits, but I am concerned that this ‘masterclass’ is going to make the fundamental error of mistaking data capture for reporting (ESG and compliance) with the need for different types of data for managing reduction. We manage businesses by developing financial forecasts. We don’t drive our cars looking through the rearview mirror. Likewise, we can only drive down emissions at scale in supply chains by generating detailed reduction forecasts based on suppliers’ managed action plans. Only then can you spot the future gap to target and be able to focus interventions where they are needed. The industry is stuck in a reporting paradigm. And reporting is not managing reduction. (I hope I am wrong about your masterclass, but I am very concerned we don’t have much time to change the way we engage with suppliers.) Yours sincerely Martin Chilcott, CEO Manufacture 2030
