Response in previous years has been massive and readers who work for the consultancies are well as those who have the consultants work for them will doubtless be keen to see if the leaderboard will see the traditional front-runners retain their rankings or if the market has shifted in the favour of the new kids on the block.

Once again edie is teaming up with Environment Business magazine to produce the only survey of its kind that seeks response from those sitting on both sides of the fence.

By being open to everyone, the survey provides data that gives a real picture of what those working on the coal face are thinking, rather than just the official line.

The survey shows what is hot and what is not in the environment sector, tracking rising stars and highlighting the big players’ rightful place in the pantheon of top consultancies.

It also gives consultants an insight into what clients really care about. Is it all about price, for example, or are customers looking for more after-care and effective communication?

Consultancy covers a huge slice of the environmental business sector, and is set to continue its meteoric rise as more regulations and legislation filter down from Brussels and Westminster and industry needs advice on how to comply.

The survey is now closed.

Full results and analysis will be published in August.
