The Mayor of London and the Borough of Bexley teamed up in an attempt to overturn the Governmental go ahead for the super incinerator planned in Belvedere.

Ken Livingstone is objecting on the grounds that an incinerator is wrong for the capital which should be recycling rather than disposing of its waste.

Bexley is opposed to the scale of the proposed energy-from-waste plant, which is expected to process 585,000 tonnes of waste a year.
