Climate campaigner Al Gore and the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) picked up their Nobel Prizes in Norway on Monday.

The Nobel Prize Committee announced in October that this year’s Nobel Peace Prize would recognise two of the world’s major forces in tackling climate change.

The former US Vice President delivered a dramatic warning about the threat of global warming as he collected his prize at a glittering ceremony in Oslo.

Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the IPCC, collected the award on behalf of the panel and paid tribute to the thousands of scientists who have contributed to its work.
