Aberdeen City Council is funding the projects to regenerate historically contaminated landfill sites.

The schemes are part of the council’s policy of taking on Aberdeen’s waste legacy and get underway today (18 May).

The Ness Farm and Tullos Hill landfill sites will both be restored to minimise the environmental harm they cause.

The council aims to fully restore the land, providing a wildlife and recreational area for future generations.

The work is being carried out to meet Sepa requirements.

Upgrades to some of the existing path network and the installation of information boards dealing with the archaeology, wildlife and recent history of the site are included in the programme of work.
