New chief exec at Veolia Water

Frederic Devos has today stepped down from his position as Veolia Water chief executive to pursue a 'new challenge'.

Mr Devos, who has been ceo at Veolia Water since 2007, has handed the reins to his deputy Olivier Bret, and will work closely with him over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.

Explaining his decision to leave the company, Mr Devos said: “I came to London to establish a credible UK-wide business for Veolia Water and have exceeded my goal in all respects. I am driven by the challenge of building new companies and platforms and feel the time has now come for me to move on to a new challenge.”

Mr Bret, who is replaced as deputy ceo by chief financial officer Andrew Dench, said: “It has been a pleasure working alongside Frédéric over the past four years, over which time we have achieved so much and I wish him all the very best for the future.”
