Sunlight reveals water and energy savings

Textile rental and laundering services Sunlight has revealed it reduced its annual water usage by 50% and carbon emissions by 21.5% in 2011, against a 2005 baseline.


Working with the Carbon Trust, the company, which provides services for industry, commerce, the NHS and public sector organisations, revealed an annual cut in emissions of more than 30,000 tonnes since 2005.

It also saved more than two million c um of water annually as part of its environmental commitment.

Sunlight managing director Steve Finch said: “As well as power, water is essential to many of the processes we carry out, and we are dedicated to cutting our usage, recycling and reusing – a vital move at the best of times, but now even more critical as the country faces a drought.

“Our commitment doesn’t stop there. We’ll continue to seize every opportunity to invest in reducing the impact our business has on the environment.”
