The twitter accounts of edie (@edie) and its waste editor Maxine Perella (@greendipped) have been featured in the Ecobuild Top 100 list of twitter influencers from across sustainable construction, design and built environment.

Twitter users within these sectors were asked to nominate their top sustainable twitter accounts last month. Over 280 experts were nominated for the list, from over 1,800 tweets among the global sustainable built environment community.

Those who made the list include associations, end-users and industry organisations, as well as print and online media and bloggers. Other names include Caroline Flint MP, shadow secretary for energy & climate change, Mike Barry, head of sustainable business at Marks & Spencer and Zac Goldsmith MP.

Commenting on the news, edie managing editor Will Parsons said: “It’s a testament to all of the hard work of our team that both edie as an entity and our waste champion Maxine have made it onto this list which is a highly respected measuring stick of influence in the sustainability sphere.”

According to Ecobuild’s brand director Tom Broughton, the purpose of the #Ecobuild100 list is to help promote and raise awareness of the work nominees are doing for sustainability across social media.
