Ofwat chief exec Regina Finn resigns

Ofwat has announced its chief exec Regina Finn has tendered her resignation and will exit her role at the regulator in November this year.

While limited details are currently available, a statement issued today says the Board and Finn are both committed to a ‘smooth transition’ to ensure operational continuity. A successor has not been named, but the search has apparently commenced.

Speaking of her decision to step down, Finn said: “I have been honoured to lead Ofwat over the last six years and I am incredibly proud of our achievements. We have laid the foundations for a new model of regulation in which water companies have to listen to their customers and deliver a step-change in their performance. These changes will lead to long lasting improvements in the sector.

With a new Chairman now established and the strengthening of the Ofwat Board, this is the right time for me to move on.”

Ofwat chairman Jonson Cox aded: “We recognise that Regina wishes to take her career forward in a different direction, and we look forward to working with her over the coming months in a smooth transition process.”
