Renewable energy in the supply chain

3rd November 2017

This new report focuses on the opportunity for companies to amplify their carbon reduction efforts by driving renewables through their supply chains. Given how easy it is to choose renewable electricity in the UK, businesses could be doing more to engage with their suppliers.

The report compiles evidence from CDP demonstrating the number of organisations that actively manage carbon emissions, and insight from the Carbon Trust about how they are helping business reduce carbon through a combination of target-setting and supply chain engagement.

A SmartestEnergy survey results and insight from an edie roundtable event show a strong desire to use purchasing power to drive the transition to a low-carbon economy. There are logistical challenges associated with tackling supply chain issues, so this report offers some simple steps to help companies start the process.
