Sustainability stats: The week in numbers (13/11/2014)

What fascinating figures did we see in the past seven days? In the latest edition of our popular series, edie takes a look-back at some of the standout data from the worlds of energy, waste and water.

It was a week dominated by that historic emissions agreement between the world’s two largest polluters, as China and US injected some momentum into global climate talks ahead of Paris 2015.

The renewables industry was also buoyed by a report which suggested that future prosperity relies on investment in green energy.

However, the week also provided plenty of reminders that a carbon-neutral future is still a long way off.

Two staggering reports surfaced revealing the amounts that supposedly advanced governments are still spending in support of fossil fuels.

Likewise, the Renewable UK State of the Industry Report presented some brow-furrowing figures about government intervention and red tape in the wind sector.

This image list rounds up these industry plot lines with illustrative key numbers and accompanying links for each of the big stories in case you missed them. Click the pic for the full news story.
