Sustainability stats: The week in numbers (28/11/2014)

What great data did we see in the past seven days? In the latest edition of our popular series, edie takes a look-back at some of the fascinating figures from the worlds of energy, waste and water.

It was a week that began with a survey from the Department of Energy and Climate Change, revealing that a vast majority of Britons want to see some form of climate action.

There was also positive news for the global solar industry, and offshore wind in the UK. It was a historic week for Scotland, as renewables energy overtook nuclear for the first time.

But of course there were some setbacks, as the European Environment Agency warned about the astronomical cost of air pollution to modern societies.

Finally, as a nod to the American holiday, we have a shocking Thanksgiving stat.

This image list rounds up these industry plot lines with illustrative key numbers and accompanying links for each of the big stories in case you missed them. As ever, click the pic for the full news story.
