Now in their 12th year, the RSA-accredited Sustainability Leaders Awards have undergone a major revamp, with a host of new categories and judges, a new Awards venue, and a new Mission Possible theme – making 6 February 2019 the biggest night of the sustainable business calendar.

The entry deadline for the 2019 Sustainability Leaders Awards is Friday, 14 September 2018. The Awards will then take place on the night of 6 February 2019 at the Park Plaza London, Westminster.

“I’m incredibly proud of this event,” said edie’s content director Luke Nicholls. “As the UK’s largest and most prestigious sustainability awards scheme, we want to recognise and celebrate the people, projects and pioneering organisations who are together transforming business, for good.

“With a new home, new judges, new categories and a new show theme, we really can’t wait to see this year’s entries begin to pour in, and to ultimately celebrate our new Sustainability Leaders for 2019.”

Categories & entry

The 2019 Sustainability Leaders Awards are open to organisations of all sizes from across the public and private sectors – from the largest multi-nationals to the smallest micro-organisations. As long as the initiative, project, product or strategy shows commitment, credibility and concrete results, we want to hear about it.

This year, you have 20 categories to choose from. Sitting alongside well-established Awards favourites – including the all-important Sustainability Leader, Energy Management Leader and Employee Engagement & Behaviour Change awards – we have introduced SEVEN new categories for 2019.

These new categories include the CSR Engagement/Marketing Campaign of the Year; Circular Economy Innovation of the Year; Team of the Year; and the Rising Sustainability Star Award.

Entries must be submitted by the deadline of 14 September.

New Awards theme

The 2019 Awards are being aligned with Mission Possible – edie’s new campaign which seeks to empower and inspire sustainability, energy and resource efficiency professionals to achieve a sustainable future for their business.

Two new ‘Mission Possible’-themed categories have been developed – the Mission Possible: Mobility Award and the Mission Possible: The Built Environment Award – to organisations that are willing to take bold actions to achieve a sustainable future in these key areas. Meanwhile, the coveted Sustainable Business of the Year Award has also been given a Mission Possible revamp.

Sustainability Leaders Forum 2019

edie’s annual Awards will once again coincide with our flagship, two-day conference and exhibition – the Sustainability Leaders Forum – which will take place on 5-6 February 2019 at the Business Design Centre in London.

Conference and exhibition by day; prestigious awards by night – combined, these two established events offer a unique opportunity to bring together the most forward-thinking businesses and ambitious business professionals looking to move beyond environmental objectives; deliver transformational change in society and create more value within their organisation.
