Broadcast live from edie Live 2018 in Birmingham, the Mission Possible sofa interviews offer up an array of the energy and sustainability industry’s leading lights to delve deep into some of the hottest industry topics – from onsite solutions and low-carbon vehicles through to green policy and the circular economy. 

Episode one saw Surfdome’s Adam Hall and A Plastic Planet’s Henri Allen discuss the plight of plastics pollution, while episode two saw Futerra’s Solitaire Townsend and the ICRS’s Anita Longley discuss the sustainability leaders of the future. In episode three, edie’s Luke Nicholls and E.ON’s chief executive Michael Lewis discussed what energy innovation can do to unlock sustainability opportunities.

In episode four, UK Green Building Council’s (UK GBC) head of industry engagement Alastair Mant was joined by the Environmental Industries Commission’s (EIC) executive director Matthew Farrow to discuss the role of collaboration, while episode five saw World Green Building Council’s project manager of Advancing Net Zero Victoria Burrows joined by Canary Wharf Group’s head of sustainability Martin Gettings and House of Fraser’s head of sustainability Dorothy Maxwell to discuss the built environment. Episode seven saw Riversimple’s Hugo Spowers and LowCVP’s Jonathan Murray discuss the market signals of the low-carbon transport sector.

The 13-minute video sees Black reflect on numerous subsidy cuts within the renewables sector and how that has impacted project deployment, while Coath discusses how wind and solar projects can both be deployed “in harmony with nature”.
