The edie 30 Under 30 is a nomination-based membership community of 30 talented sustainability and energy professionals, aged under 30, who have already achieved great things or are showing fantastic promise.

After an initial round of judging by edie and its 30 Under 30 partners Global Action Plan and the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS), 30 individuals representing organisations across the UK were selected to form the ‘Class of 2019’.

These youthful visionaries then benefitted from an unrivalled opportunity to connect with one another at a launch event in March and to develop their skills and knowledge over the next 12 months through bespoke content and events.

What the judges said:

After judging this year’s entries, Global Action Plan partner Chris Large said: “edie’s 30 under 30 group is incredibly exciting. Between them, this collection of ambitious sustainability professionals have the energy, vision and know-how to put right many environmental issues that we currently get wrong.

“This is why I am delighted Global Action Plan has been invited to help these young leaders change the world for the better. They’re not just the 30 to watch. They’re the 30 to teach us how to think differently, the 30 to root for, and the 30 to rally around and follow.”

Anita Longley, chair of ICRS – which is offering free membership to this year’s successful applicants – added: “It’s never been more important to support the next generation of CRS leaders who face challenges of an extraordinary scale if they are to steer us towards long term sustainability.

“When I look through the inaugural ’30 under 30’ list, I feel heartened we have the capacity and talent to change the status quo. The 2019 nominees work in a diverse range of industries and across all aspects of CRS. Their high calibre made it difficult to select just 30.
