Those looking for light relief and continued sustainability inspiration during the Covid-19 pandemic are encouraged to tune in to this latest episode of the Sustainable Business Covered podcast, which sees edie’s senior reporter Sarah George travel to Tonge Mill, Kent, for a behind-the-scenes tour at luxury accessories brand Elvis & Kresse. Co-founder Kresse Wesling discusses her reasoning for founding supply chains based around what many others would call “waste” and provides practical advice on business model transformation.

Following that, Sarah takes a trip to Mulberry’s Bond Street Store to learn about the brand’s new resale platform – The Mulberry Exchange – and its plans to implement more ambitious circular economy principles throughout the value chain.

Sticking with the fashion theme, Teemill co-founder Martin Drake dials in from the Isle of Wight to highlight circular economy opportunities outside of the luxury sub-sector, and the necessity of bringing closed-loop models to scale in order to engage consumers with resource conversations.

And, lastly, former corporate executive Jason Ash talks us through his decision to found Young Planet – an app which allows parents and carers to sell and give children’s items within their local communities, thus giving these products a second life.
