#SustyTalk: PepsiCo’s Chris Daly on climate action in the time of Covid-19

edie's #SustyTalk interview series continues with PepsiCo Europe's vice president for supply chain, Chris Daly, who provides insight as to how the food & beverage sector is managing the twin challenges of Covid-19 and climate action.

With the UK on lockdown (albeit now easing) and edie readers working remotely or on furlough, this brand new series of video interviews keeps you connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and champion climate action from their own homes.

#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on, through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

Today, edie’s senior reporter Sarah George dials Geneva to speak with PepsiCo Europe’s vice president for supply chain, Chris Daly.

Daly provides much insight on how food and beverage supply chains have been affected by ongoing efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change, and the pressures they now face as a result of the pandemic.

“The ability to get things done in a very tough environment… gives you hope that, as we step into more of the sustainability agenda, the things we thought were maybe a little bit impossible… we might be able to accomplish if we take a different point of view and learn from this experience,” Daly said.

Daly also outlines his hopes for the post-Covid-19 green policy landscape, discussing the EU’s Green Deal and its potential impacts for his sector.
