Mil-tek aids Plymouth

Plymouth City Council's decision to work with Mil-tek has seen 18 tonnes of waste now being recycled yearly that would otherwise be landfilled.

The LA needed a solution to a recycling problem at its City Business Park, which provides offices and light workshops for small businesses. With over 100 small businesses, it wasn’t cost-effective to provide individual recycling options although collectively the businesses were producing significant amounts of waste.

Mil-tek supplied a mid size, air powered baler Model 305 that can process around 1.6 tonnes a month of a variety of materials including plastic, cardboard and various grade papers and shredded paper. It is easy and safe to operate and produces a dense bale ready for recycling collection.

Manager of the small businesses site, Sue Grant, says: “We’re delighted with the Mil-tek baler as it immediately proved its worth.”
