With edie readers working remotely or on furlough, this brand new series of video interviews keeps you connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and champion climate action from their own homes.

#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

The latest episode sees edie’s senior reporter Sarah George speaking with Cranswick’s commercial director Jim Brisby, who plays a key role in the business’ efforts to reduce food waste.

Cranswick recently announced that it had surpassed a target to halve food waste and loss across its entire upstream value chain and operations by 2030, achieving a 61% reduction during August’s monthly reporting.

Brisby provides best-practice advice around minimising waste during manufacturing and effectively distributing surplus products in a way that creates social benefits as well as preventing waste. He also offers insight on how Covid-19 has affected sustainability discussions and actions within and beyond the UK’s food and drink sector.
