November 2021 was undeniably one of the busiest months in recent years for those working in the UK’s sustainability space.

The beginning of the month saw more than 39,000 people descending on Glasgow’s Scottish Events Campus (SEC) for COP26, which was badged as the most important UN COP since the Paris Agreement was ratified at COP21 in 2015. The summit saw a flurry of new commitments signed by nations, states, cities and businesses, that should accelerate global action on issues including methane, nature conservation, sustainable transport and climate resilience.

Keeping this momentum going throughout the month, edie and headline partner EDF hosted Net-Zero November – an entire month’s worth of digital content and live events, all dedicated to accelerating the race to a more resilient, zero-carbon economy.

There were exclusive interviews with the likes of Triodos Bank’s chief executive Bevis Watts and Centrica’s chief executive Chris O’Shea; a brand-new COP26 Covered podcast series; a string of blogs from thought leaders and a round-up of the best green innovations, powered by edie partner Springwise.

edie also published several exclusive reports, packed with advice for sustainability professionals; hosted an online afternoon of Net-Zero Inspiration Sessions and held a one-day workshop event with energy leaders for SPARK! 2021.

There is now a new summary report live on edie for those wishing to reflect and recap on a busy month – and year – and to set the tone for the coming New Year 2022.

Produced in association with headline sponsor EDF, the document rounds up all of the big announcements from edie’s themed month of editorial content and events which informed, inspired and empowered sustainability and energy professionals on the road to a net-zero carbon future for their business.

The report spotlights a number of key enablers of the net-zero transition – including green policy, finance, data, and a selection of innovations for the future put forward by edie’s innovation partner, Springwise.

It also features exclusive commentary from a range of climate leaders – including a foreword by National Grid’s UK sustainability manager Steven Thompson about the future of net-zero carbon business.
