Construction powers ahead with materials recycling plant

A key element in reducing the millions of tonnes of building and demolition waste and material that go to landfill is recycling. Site managers can select the tools needed to convert construction waste to a variety of new uses from a growing range of purpose built materials sorting, crushing and grading equipment, many examples of which will be on show at SED 2004, the national construction event to be held at Milton Keynes on May 18, 19 & 20. LAWE's selective preview of equipment on demo at the all-action exhibition highlights what's new in this Focus on SED feature which runs the rule over recycling plant on display at the special Site Clearance Zone and elsewhere on the extensive site and picks out other exhibits which help the construction industry improve its impact on the environment. For full details of the SED event visit www.sed.co.uk

The UK is taking big strides in encouraging the recycling and reclamation of construction waste, and with measures such as the Aggregates Levy and the Landfill Tax, plus the impact of environmental concerns; the recycling of materials is now seen as not just good sense, but good business.

The SED Site Clearance Zone offers visitors the opportunity to see not just the latest crushers, hammers, pulverisers and screens, but also, the chippers, shredders and other green waste kit.

CGCS Midlands is a familiar exhibitor in the SED Site Clearance Zone – this year the company will be showing and demonstrating the new SD1520 Shredder – it will be the first time that this machine has been shown.
