Solco Ltd has the required CE (Certifica Europa) accreditation for Solartech Genius its solar hot water system – and said it will be offering Solartech licences for manufacture in another five European countries in the next few weeks.
“Portugal and Spain are among the EU’s most favourable markets for solar thermal technology. And given our product’s robustness and ease of manufacture, we are very confident about its future success throughout Europe,” said Duncan Stone, Solco Ltd’s CEO.
Mr Stone said Europe was a top licensing priority and that the company was keen to develop partnerships with other European renewable technology companies seeking representation in the Asia Pacific region.
In November, electronics giant Sanyo announced a €150 million investment in Europe for what it calls its ‘Energy and Ecology’ business manufacturing solar and energy efficient technology (see related story).
Most businesses believe the strong regulations and feed-in tariffs will drive the market for renewable technologies across Europe.
The Solco system is made from a polymer-based product, giving it a life-time guarantee against rust, frost damage and corrosion.
