What is Waste to Energy?
Waste to Energy (or Energy from Waste) is the term used to describe the process of converting residual waste into useable energy (in the form of heat or electricity). Many of the EfW plants in the UK produce energy in the form of electricity and there has been an increasing number of UK EfW plants utilising the heat generated as energy.
Over the years, the UK has seen significant development in the way we dispose of waste. With a new generation of Waste to Energy plants being installed, we’re able to fulfil more objectives than just being a disposal-only point.
