Real Talk 2022: Reduce, reuse, recycle…reimagine: The future of packaging

Last updated: 24th November 2022

On December 1st, Coca-Cola Great Britain and WRAP are coming together to unite the world’s biggest FMCG brands with leading organisations Behaviour Change and WWF, to share insights, drive collaboration, and propel solutions to joint sustainability challenges.

Moderated by Tony Juniper CBE, the Real Talk forum will feature high-profile speakers from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), Marks & Spencer and McDonald’s as part of a wide-ranging discussion on one of the biggest, most visible sustainability challenges that must be addressed in order to reach a Net Zero future: The Future of Packaging. As with many environmental challenges, creating sustainable packaging solutions can only happen if all partners – industry, consumer groups, NGOs, campaigners and Governments – unite behind common goals.

Reduce, reuse, recycle…reimagine: The future of packaging will explore four key topics, including:

·      Packaging – the state of play: What’s working, what isn’t, and opportunities for collaboration

·      The future of packaging: Industry innovation, including reusable and refillable formats

·      Supporting a retail environment that can accommodate new solutions: At scale, and with consumers

·      What more can be done: Moving towards a circular economy

Speakers include Paula Chin, Senior Policy Advisor at WWF UK; Nina Prichard, Head of Sustainable and Ethical Sourcing at McDonald’s; Lucinda Langton, Head of Sustainability at M&S Food; and Joe Franses, Vice-President Sustainability at CCEP. The forum will also include a spotlight session on consumer behaviour change featuring Catherine David, Director of Collaboration and Change at WRAP and David Hall, Founder and Executive Director at Behaviour Change.

The forum will discuss how we can build momentum towards a packaging system that works for all, how we can remove silos in order to bring stakeholders together and how we can inspire and enable private sector and consumer engagement in sustainability.

Those in attendance will get the chance to learn about key sustainability and consumer behaviour change solutions which they can take away and implement themselves to contribute towards a more sustainable future.

?Real Talk 2022 be live between 8:30 – 10:00am on Thursday December 1st.
