Picture of the Week: beware the big bin

A big bin could be coming to a town near you. A campaign to reduce the amount of rubbish householders throw away will be visiting cities in the north west of England over the next couple of weeks.

The scheme has been devised by Reth!nk Rubbish, the same organisation that introduced the Green Santa just before Christmas (see related story).

The roadshow will visit the Prom, Blackpool on 16 January; Market Walk, Chorley on the 17th; St James Street, Burnley on the 18th; Lytham Shopping Precinct and St Annes Shopping Precinct, on the Fylde Coast, on the 23rd; St Nicholas Arcade, Lancaster, on the 24th; and Flag Market, Preston, on 25th.
