Pollution causes miscarriages and deformities in Thailand

Official statistics show that 159 people suffered from pollution-related health problems in Thailand in 1995, but activists claim the rate is much higher.


Thailand lacks proper infrastructure to dispose of the 1.1 million tonnes of industrial hazardous waste it generates each year, causing far greater health problems than officially admitted, claim activists.
