That is the hope of the organisation which represents much of Europe’s publicly owned postal services.
While postmen and women have for many years been replacing push-bikes with vans, a need to cut emissions has seen a rethink.
In order to help the service cut its emissions a prototype for a Europe-wide electric delivery vehicle has been unveiled.
PostEurop, the association which represents 2.1 million postal workers across Europe, unveiled an electric delivery vehicle, called the FreeDuck, outside the European Parliament yesterday (July 15).
PostEurop Secretary General, Botond Szebeny, said: “Sustainability remains at the top of our agenda.”
