A voltage optimisation company has today (July 14) claimed to have saved its clients the equivalent of turning London's power off for nine days.

The company’s Voltage Power Optimisation (VPO) has saved business a billion kWh of energy, through getting the best results out of electrical systems in commercial buildings.

The savings, which are also equivalent to making 820 cups of tea for everybody in the UK, are displayed on the company’s website, which also shows the savings are worth more than £85,500,000.

powerPerfector chief executive, Angus Robertson said: “The billion barrier outlines the pivotal role energy efficiency can play in delivering a sustainable power supply in the future.

“We have saved our clients £85million in energy spend to date, which in the current financial climate is of great benefit.”
