Rainwater harvesting for innovation centre

Designer and manufacturer, Stormsaver, has been contracted to supply a 10,000 litre, below-ground, rainwater harvesting system to the multi-million pound Innovation Centre expansion.

Stormsaver says the rainwater harvesting system is predicted to collect 485 m3 of rainwater via the facility’s 762 m2 roof area.

This will result in a significant reduction in mains water supply as well as potential cost savings of almost £900 per annum.

Stormsaver has provided rainwater harvesting systems for a number of high profile projects including the Handball Arena for the 2012 Olympics, over 30 Sainbury’s stores and the Welsh Assembly.

The company is committed to innovation in sustainable technologies and has donated a rainwater harvesting system to the Creative Homes Energy Project at the University of Nottingham, to help in the research and development of low cost, zero carbon homes.
