Green voice of the UK announced

A blogger from Essex who tries to live as frugally as possible has been announced as the first Green voice of the UK.

Melanie Sykes launched the search for the Green voice of the UK last month.

More than 100 candidates put themselves forward for the voluntary role which is organised by the Energy Saving Trust.

Those candidates were whittled down to four with Piper Terrett, 33, of Billericay in Essex, who writes the Frugal Life blog named the winner today (October 21).

Piper explains her plans on the video below.

Piper says her main aim will be to raise awareness and educate the public, finding out their concerns and demonstrating to all how small changes can help protect the environment.
